Sounds Like This is a small team of highly skilled educators dedicated to investing in childhood development, community building, and connection through music-making.

We are kindergarten and primary trained teachers, educational leaders, and inclusion and diversity-informed musicians.

We are truly obsessed with the incredible process of growing brains! And we’re in love with the journey of learning.

When you put the two together, you'll discover that our dedicated teachers are consistently striving to improve our understanding of how the brain functions when engaged in the process of making music — and then skillfully applying this valuable knowledge to enhance our curriculum.

Sounds Like This is a small private business founded by certified Neuro-Music Educator Julie Murray.
Julie has a Bachelor of Music, more than a decade of music teaching, parenthood, leadership, as well as 30+ years of performance experience.

Guided by Maya Angelou's philosophy of continuous improvement and her words, “Do the best you can until you know better”, Julie recognised the need for and best-practice-based and inclusive Early Years Music Education programs. And so, Sounds Like This was born.
