Introducing Sounds Like This’ Musical Play sessions for primary kids.
Dynamic and engaging experiences, packed with singing, connection, joy, movement and excitement!
Our Big Kids music classes welcome children aged 7-12 years old (parent-free zone - go grab a cuppa and chill!).
At Sounds Like This, we make music fun in a welcoming environment where your big kids can be kids. We’ know they’ve had a busy day, and this is the perfect space for them to make some music, be their truest self and connect with other kiddos that love beats, movement and singing up a storm.
So your child can feel safe taking up space again while building confidence through listening, sharing, and being truly heard with zero pressure to perform.
These sessions are not your average music classes. Our highly skilled and experienced Music Practitioners are highly skilled in ensuring your child’s love of music develops through exploration and play in a way that feels safe for them.
Behind the scenes, they’re learning about rhythm, pitch, tempo and melody without even knowing it.
Big Kids Musical Play is great for their growing brain and imagination, and even better for their soul.

Our older children’s music classes are a natural extension of our kinder kids sessions, scaffolding their learning to build musicianship and nurture creativity.
Expect lots of confidence building, games that promote teamwork, and echo, call and response songs in a full-bodied learning environment.

How long? Classes run for 35 minutes each
How much? $25 per class per child per class. Sessions are booked as 5-week flexible memberships
How often? Classes run weekly for a 5 week series
When and where? Our in-person Big Kids music classes are based in southeast Melbourne — at Making Waves, 4/4 Torca Terrace, Mornington — and run in alignment with the school terms (and some school holidays - see our bookings page for the current timetables)
