Singing and dancing in your
early childhood classroom is great…
… But it won’t transform your children and teachers.
You know what will?
Music making backed by neuroscience.
Music Making Made Easy
Music sessions mean nothing if they don’t support early childhood development.
Music making in the classroom can be a fun outlet for creative expression. But if it’s half-baked, you’re missing out on MOST of its benefits.
Music isn’t just a box to tick on your curriculum.
It can play a pivotal role in creating clever children, confident educators, and contented parents at your early learning centre.
Yet most educators don’t feel equipped to implement a quality music curriculum.
In the past 30 years, musical education for ECE students has plummeted. We’ve gone from covering 72 hours of musical training in a 4-year degree to 17 hours, at most.
It’s no wonder your educators don’t feel musically confident!
Almost 50% of Aussie kindergarten teachers have never been musically trained.
It’s enough to make them think they’re not equipped to use their voices or keep a beat. It’s enough to keep your centre from reaching its full musical potential.
But here’s what we think:
Not musical? Not a thing.
It’s not a matter of skill. It’s a matter of confidence.
And that’s absolutely something you can change.
Sound like music to your ears?
Be intentional about your music curriculum. Bring impactful music making into your early learning setting, and get ready to reap the rewards with happy and confident staff and children.
It’s simple. Less than 50% of educators have had any musical training. That means they’re feeling unconfident, insecure, and even anxious whenever “music time” rolls around.
Let’s see what happens if we equip them with the right tools to make organic music.
It gives them the confidence to leap into action. To embed smart music making into everyday classroom activities and use it as an effective tool to promote early childhood development in all key areas.
You’re done with meaningless 30-minute music sessions.
Let’s embrace impactful, brain changing musical play and super boost your children’s group time and free play experiences.

Here is what your educators will learn
The Music Making Made Easy
Early Childhood PD educator goals:
Understand more of the wondrous physical neurological happenings when we sing and create music organically.
Learn how to encourage children to use their voices safely.
Learn how to engage children’s breath and body awareness as play.
Learn how to encourage and nurture active listening, one of a child’s greatest learning assets.
Build up a repertoire of brilliantly engaging songs and games specifically chosen for their developmental benefits — and how to deliver them for maximum impact.
Learn how to use music to easily include fine and gross motor development in everyday activities.
Learn how to enhance children’s cross-hemispheric development through music making and play.
Use music making as an accessible and engaging way to build confidence and social skills through play.
This is what we will not be doing
No backing track endorsement
We emphasise organic beat keeping as the most important part of music education (not to mention it’s brilliant for the brain for a host of reasons).
No time wasting
You will have lifetime access to this PD. It’s self paced and contains bite-sized but comprehensive videos so your educators can return to it again and again and continue to embed the teachings in their daily work.
No abstract theory
We’re brain nerds but we’re not about assailing your educators with abstract gobbledegook. Everything your educators learn can be readily implemented in the classroom immediately.
No fancy equipment required
All you need is you, your voice, and your body. We encourage educators to use what’s at their disposal within their centre — all that really matters is that you can find a way to keep a beat.
The transformation
Before
Educators overlook or underestimate the importance of music for child development and learning.
Music takes a back seat to other learning areas like literacy and numeracy.
Educators understand how valuable music making can be as an educational tool in the classroom.
After
Music is embedded into the curriculum and used as a tool to promote other key areas of development and learning.
Educators don’t have enough knowledge to teach music, which causes a lack of musical confidence.
Educators struggle to embed music as a part of integrated learning activities — music is assigned a minor role in short daily sessions.
Educators learn the basic tenets of music making, reject their beliefs around musicality and embrace confident music making.
Educators know how to integrate music making into other learning activities, making it a core part of your educational program.
Using music as a fun, playful, and social creative outlet but stopping there, not realising its full potential.
Clarity around how to make brain changing music and how to incorporate it into the curriculum.
Educators experience anxiety and low self esteem when it comes to music sessions.
Educator confidence flourishes, delivering a higher standard of teaching.
Educators lean on their own music strengths, which may not contribute to the EYLF.
Educators adapt their musical activities to their children’s strengths and better understand the links to outcomes from the EYLF.
Children receive superficial exposure to musical experiences as educators depend on backing tracks, layered songs, and vocals that don’t support children’s musical development.
Competent educators know how to facilitate organic musical play designed to support all areas of early childhood development.
The Music Made Easy Early Childhood PD helps your educators embed impactful, brain-changing musical play into the heart of everything you do at your centre.

Listen to Hope Early Learning sing our praises
“Children that never used to engage in whole group experiences are now eager to be a part of the group. We have also had immense positive feedback from families expressing how their children go home and share music with their families.”
— Olivia Allen: Educational Leader at Hope Early Learning Centre
“This program is wonderful! It’s so well thought out and easy to use. The educators are inspired to sing with the children all the time.”
— Zoe Lee: Pre-Prep co-ordinator at Hope Early Learning Centre
“I’m not really a singer, but the children LOVE it when we make music with them. We are using these tools throughout our day and transitions are so much easier. The children are just so musical!”
— Leighan Hanna: Educator at Hope Early Learning Centre
Educators receive fewer than 20 hours of musical education
before entering the workplace.
This kind of exposure isn’t nearly enough to help build their musical knowledge or inspire confidence in incorporating music into daily life at your centre.
It doesn’t match up.
We know how valuable music can be for early childhood development.
But most educators don’t know how to use it as an effective educational and developmental tool.
It means they play hide-and-seek with music making (but with more hiding and less seeking).
Studies show that teachers hardly dedicate any time to music teaching and don’t prioritise its implementation in ECE classrooms.
But here’s what you didn’t know.
When educators start implementing music making in the classroom:
There’s a greater sense of connection among children and educators
Educators’ confidence flourishes and they begin using music in their everyday practices with children
Centres receive immense support and positive feedback from their families
Staff resilience and retention are improved
The boost in educators’ confidence, self esteem, and beliefs change how they show up at work
The Music Making Made Easy PD will cover the gaps in your educators’ learning, making confident and competent music makers in your early learning centre.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the cost and how do I pay?
The online PD costs $1397 as a one-off payment or you can make 4 payments of $375. Payment for all memberships is through our easy-to-use website.
But the resource is NOT a one-off thing. You will have unlimited, lifetime access so your educators can refer to it whenever they need to — and it remains available to new staff as well.
How do we access the course?
Once you’ve signed up simply share your centre’s login details with your staff. Content is accessible 24/7, anywhere you have internet access.
Can we share the videos in our centre?
Yes, these videos are designed to share among early learning educator staff. We highly recommend you watch them separately or together and workshop additional play ideas to really see your children’s learning soar.
These videos are not designed for children to view. Instead, use these demonstrations to build your skills and confidence and deliver the materials with your own voices.
Is the course self paced or do we need to show up at a set time?
It’s self paced and you can dip in and out and revisit materials over and over again.
Do I need to buy any specific props?
There’s no such thing as the ‘right’ equipment at Sounds Like This! We want music making to be as accessible as possible, so we only use props that commonly show up in early learning settings. We also suggest alternatives to the props we use so you can keep participating without missing a beat.
What age children is this for?
All content is for educators to use with children aged 0 to 5 years. The materials are scaffolded so that educators may learn the songs and use them in developmentally appropriate ways for all the children in your early learning setting.

Julie has chased more than 30 years of musical obsession, through flute and piano lessons to studying at the Melba Conservatorium and playing on the world’s stage.
But her true passion has always been teaching. She has been a private music educator since 2003 and has since studied Kodály (pronounced Koh-Die) based music programs and philosophy specifically for young children and early learning.
Julie continuously advocates for research-informed, play-based music education for the young and the young at heart, which is why she created the Music Making Made Easy PD — to support teachers in facilitating brain changing music making in the classroom.
